Would you take your child to a quack without any proper degree for a checkup?

Would you get your house built by anyone who has no prior experience?

Would you knowing have an accountant who has any criminal cases pending against him?

Would you entrust your family to someone who is out on parole?

Would you marry someone who does not even have a basic matriculation degree?

I have said this before and I am saying it again. We all have studied hard for several years to get where we are. To even apply for the job of a peon in an office today, a graduation degree or at least a matriculation degree is a must.  Then how is it that our country is led by a motley bunch, most of whom have criminal records, have criminal cases pending against them, have been alleged of misappropriation of funds etc., many of whom are not properly educated as well.

Don’t you think that before being allowed to contest for elections at the state/ national level, a person should have to undergo some basic training on governance, the working of the government, the laws, the bills which are still pending,  proper etiquette and conduct (after all they are representing our country at the international level). They should be made responsible for the entire country and not only concentrate on the upliftment of their respective constituencies. Any whiff of a scandal or scam, and they should be immediately suspended (would you/ your company allow an accountant/ manager to continue if there was any allegation of mismanagement/ misappropriation of funds against such a person). If a person holds a criminal record, he should be immediately barred from contesting elections ever again.

Its just a thought, but IMO its a worthy thought indeed.

    • I only wish we could actually do something about this. The Constitution only specifies that a person 35 and above and being a citizen can contest the elections
