Blogging Challenge: Day 7

What do you do when your cook takes French leave, you have returned home tired and hungry after swimming and a full day’s work and are not in the mood to order out?

What happens when you look in the fridge and find a 1/2 kg mutton , an opened pack of tomato puree and ginger-garlic paste which is almost over?

Simple.

1) You tell the Hujband to defrost the mutton.

2) You tell the Hujband to chop the onions and soak the rice.

3) You tell the Hujband to pour you a cold drink.

4) You tell the Hujband to bring the ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree from the fridge. He returns with some dhania patta and a few green chillies too.

5) You wash the mutton and rub the ginger garlic paste on it.

6) You tell the Hujband to fry the onions while you rub lemon juice on your hands to get the smell of ginger-garlic out of your hands.

7) You tell the Hujband to add the tomato paste, red chilli powder and turmeric to the onions and let it cook. You add water as you deem fit.

8 ) You tell the Hujband to get the pressure cooker out and put the mutton in it with the partially cooked gravy.

9) You add water as you deem fit.

10) You tell the Hujband to wait for two long whistles before putting the gas on sim, then one whistle, then turn off the gas while you see what are the movies at 9 pm that night.

11) You tell the Hujband to see if the mutton is cooked and to put the rice in the microwave.

12) You garnish the mutton with chopped dhania patta and green chillies.

13) Now sit back and enjoy hot steamed rice and mutton and take full credit for the good food on a weekday after a full day’s work and swimming.

*runs away before the Hujband sees this post*
