Demanded & Tagged

with 8 comments

Mon has done this wonderful tag called the “May I Hebb Your Attention Please” and I basically demanded to be tagged (which she was sweet enough to allow considering that I haven’t done the previous tag on my Wedding Story yet :P).

Rules first (since they have to be broken, we need to know them in the first place).

1. On your blog, provide a link to the Great Bong’s page,May I Hebb Your Attention Pliss. Embedding theΒ  above picture in your blog would be nice but not needed.

The May I Hebb Your Attention Pliss contest

2. Then write down your top 10 Hindi movie lines or top 10 English movie lines (You can do both if you want. Only one set is required for the contest). If you cannot think of top 10, make it top 5. Cannot think of even 5? Make it top 3. No problem. Only restriction: no two lines from same movie. This done to make it fair for other movies so that they dont get swamped by Gunda or Loha or Sholay.

3. Tag five friends to do the same.

4. Come over to the comment-space of this post and post your blog’s link so I can go and read it.

Remember: Before starting the tag, paste points 1 and 4 on your blog so that the rules are available to anyone who wishes to pick the tag up from your blog.

My favourite lines πŸ™‚

1. Dil Chahta Hai – “Hum cake khaane ke liye kahin bhi ja sakte hain”

Extremely true in my case…waise free food ke liye bhi jaane ko tayyar hain πŸ˜›

2. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron – “Amrika mein kehte hain – thoda khao thoda pheko”

* Yes I know this is not a politically correct statement but you have to watch it in the context of the movie to get the joke. Naseeruddin Shah goes to visit Satish Shah as a newspaper photographer. He is eating cake. Naseeruddin;s friend isΒ  standing at the window and also wants cake. This is when to oblige his friend Naseeruddin makes this dialogue to Satish Shah and flings some cake out of the window to his friend.

* The Draupadi scene is what most people remember so please get introduced to my other favourite scene too from this movie πŸ™‚

3. Any movie from the 70s & 80s – “Bhagwan ke liye mujhe chod do”

Need I explain why? πŸ˜›

4. Sholay -This is the scene where Dhamrmendra is threatening to committ suicide form the water tank.

Villager 1 – “Are bhai yeh sucide kya hota hain?”

Villager 2 – “Are bhai jab angrez marte hain, to use sucide kehte hain !!!”

Aur jab gaonwaalen marte hain to use kya kehte hain πŸ˜›

5.Β  Mr. India – “Mogambo khush hua!!!”

This is till date one of my all time favourite movies.

6. Waqt – “Jaani, yeh bachchon ke khelne ki cheez nahi, haath kat jaaye to khoon nokal aata hai”

Delivered by Rajk Kumar in in his typical style.

7. Khosla ka Ghosla –

Bunty reading from a brick wall – “Yahan peshab karna mana hai.”

Reaction – “Oye kamal hai ji…hum yahan peshab karne thode hi aaye hain.”

This is for all the males out there who say they don’t pee on on the walls.

8.Β  Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi – “Paanch rupaiya barah aana”

Kishore Kumar sure knew the value of his hard earned money.

9. Judge pronouncing order in a court (any movie) – “Gawahoon ke bayanat aur saboot ko madde nazar rakhte huyen, dafa 302 ke tahet, mujrim ko sazaa-e-maut di jaati hain”

Nope court proceedings are really not that dramatic. And section 302 is not the one and only section in the Indian legal system. And no death sentences are not really that easy to hand out. Ask me. I did a paper on it in college.

10. Heroine wala dialogue in the older movies –“Kya kar rahe ho? Koi dekh lega. Log kya kahenge? Aap bade woh hain”

Nope I do not use these lines.

I tag the Hujband, Ria, Utopia, Pallavi and Parama.
