My Wordzzle Puzzle

with 30 comments

Missed doing it last week thanks to my amazing habit of procrastination. So this week I decided to do it asap.

He woke up. Looked around. Vaguely made out out something on the wall opposite him in the colour purple which said ‘Puget Sound’. He heard some murmurs. He made out a fragmentary image of a machine making beeping sounds and a graph on the screen which was in a state of perpetual motion. A woman in a white dress and nurse’s cap came running into the room when she heard the beeps and checked his pulse. He managed a croak and asked “Where am I?”. She replied. “Well, Mr. Sen, you were monkeying around at the parallel bars last Sunday when you slipped and fell. You were lucky that one of our doctors were there too which was quite handy for you. You had an operation on your right hand.He asked her what day it was. She replied “Today is Wednesday.” He felt that she was being rather evasive and secretive about something since she wouldn’t meet his eyes. He asked for the doctor to show his gratitude. The doctor entered the room brusquely and told him “We had an option – it was either your brain or your legs. We took your legs.” So that is how Mr. Sen has been confined to a wheelchair ever since and has become a manic depressive.

Howzzat folks?

  1. That would make me a manic depressive too… or at least deeply depressed. That was fun and well done. I’ll add your name to Mr. Linky for you. Carletta couldn’t find it. Were you able to see it?

Anyway, great job. Thanks for joining in.

  4. Raven: Hey…I thought I was done with the wordzlle only to see that manic -depressive was left. So I just added a sentence at the end to include the word 🙂

Nirmal: This is a game started by raven (link in my sidebar) were she gives a set of random words every Saturday and we weave them to form a coherent paragraph. That’s my paragraph. hope you get it now.

Akelamalu: Heyyyyy. Well I am not an experienced a Worddzler like you. Still getting there 🙂

  9. Liked the story, but would have liked more detail. Like most of us when we start this you were rushed to use the words. The doctor seemed almost too abrupt.

It’s kinda like the old joke.

A man asks his friend to take care of his treasured pet cat while he’s on vacation. He asks that he call him every day and let him know his cat is OK.

This happens in good order for several days till the friend calls to tell him his cat is dead. In explanation he later tells him the cat got caught in the chimney and suffocated.

The man asks him why he was so abrupt. Couldn’t he have let him down easier? Why didn’t he say…
“Your cat is on the roof and I’ve called the fire dept to rescue him.” Then the next day..”The fireman came and your cat jumped into the chimney; I’ve called a chimney sweep to rescue him.” Then the next day..”I’m sorry old friend but your cat wasn’t breathing when the sweep got to him.”

“Do you see how much better that would have been?” “Yes”, the friend replies.

“Well, what’s done is done” states the man. “How is everthing else at home?” he asks.

“Well, your mom is on the roof….”

    Anyway… Welcome and Great story

  11. I hate it when I think I’m all done and I realize I’ve forgotten a word. I breathe my sigh of relief only to realize that some awful, impossible word is still not included and the whole thing has to be reworked or tweaked. You did a great job.
